Enjoy the fall colours of the Laurentian Mountains at the stunning Couvent Val Morin, At this retreat, you will gain a strong foundation in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and learn ways to incorporate eco-therapy, ecopsychology, nature therapy and walk and talk therapy into your practice. 

 

This unique training experience allows you the space to process and practice what you’ve learned in a beautiful natural setting, away from the distractions of day-to-day life, and with all your needs taken care of. You will leave this training feeling confident and relaxed.

Unique training experience

Instead of spending days in a conference room, learn in the comfort of a yoga studio or during a walk in the forest. The ACT in Nature Training retreat offers a unique learning environment helping you to rebalance in a natural setting and providing the perfect backdrop for personal and professional growth. Over three days, you will be guided through various nature-based and ecotherapeutic techniques that can benefit your health and that you can use with your clients.

What Is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a powerful, evidence-based approach that equips therapists with the tools to empower clients and improve their well-being. This approach focuses on helping clients develop psychological flexibility and live a life guided by their core values.

 

This training dives deep into the core principles of ACT and equips you with practical skills to address a wide range of challenges clients face. Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, or interpersonal difficulties, ACT provides a framework to help them manage difficult emotions, build resilience, and live a more fulfilling life aligned with their values.
 

At this retreat, you will learn and practice all these aspects of ACT and you will also learn and practice how to incorporate eco-therapy, ecopsychology, nature-therapy and walk and talk therapy with ACT through various experiential and mindfulness-based practices.

Who Should Attend this ACT Retreat

This retreat is ideal for psychologists, psychotherapists, and trainees seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in ACT and ecotherapy. No prior experience with ACT is required, but a basic understanding of therapeutic principles and practices is recommended.

​

At this retreat, we will use nature as a background for training and practice in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ecotherapy and mindfulness meditation.

​

This training will equip therapists with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to implement ACT interventions in various professional settings.

Practical Information

Prerequisites

No prior experience in ACT is required to attend this training. However, participants should have a basic understanding of general therapeutic principles, ethics, and practices and some prior supervised clinical experience (e.g., practicum, internship, and clinical practice).

​

Continuing Education Credits

This training program is recognized for 14 credits by the Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec and the Canadian Psychological Association. Continuing education hours are also eligible with other organizations. Please email me at info@moirestevenson.com if you have any questions.

Transportation

Transportation is not provided by the retreat.

Your Presenter

Dr. Moire Stevenson is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience. She works as a Pediatric Psychologist at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and directs Mindfulness Outdoors, a nature-based wellness program.

 

Dr. Stevenson has a background in biology and biochemistry and uses aspects of nature therapy and ecopsychology to enhance the use of other therapeutic techniques and encourage experiential practice. She has been a clinical supervisor for the past 9 years, specializing in the supervision of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and evidence-based practice for specific disorders (e.g., OCD, social anxiety, selective mutism et cetera). Ultimately, Moire supports adults, children and families in living a fulfilled life in line with their values.
